I want to spend a year gaining experience
If you are looking to do this as part of your course, the Careers Centre will help you consider the full range of options available to you, from one year industrial placements to a year of different experiences in different sectors (paid or voluntary).
If your department does not offer a year in industry you may still be able to take a placement year through our work placement module, CSER 8000.
You may also be interested in spending your year working or studying abroad, check out your options for funding to support this through the ERASMUS scheme.
If you are looking to take a year out after you have graduated, check out our pages on taking time out for your options and to consider employers' perspectives.
