LUBS FINAL YEAR Student focus group - Maurice Keyworth SR (1.24)

Do you have feedback and ideas on how the Careers Centre and Faculty services within LUBS can improve its service to you and other LUBS final year students?  

Have ideas on how Minerva can be improved as well as what career related events, workshops and talks should run more frequently at LUBS? 

If this sounds like you, then come along to this session! 

We will be holding a focus group session on 1 May 2019 11:00-12:00 at Maurice Keyworth SR (1.24) exclusively for LUBS final year students. 

It will give you the opportunity to raise ideas on how you think the Careers centre and the Faculty services within LUBS can provide a better service to you. 

It doesn’t matter if you have never engaged with the Careers Centre before, your opinions and ideas are also welcome for this study! So please come along!  

PLEASE NOTE that for the purpose of this study, the session will be audio recorded, and participants will be asked to sign a consent form for their participation.  

Please also be advised that responses will be anonymised and kept in the strictest of confidence.

This session will introduce you to some of the features of LinkedIn which can really help you.

The session will cover:
•How to identify potential contacts and the etiquette of approaching them
•How to use it to identify potential employers
How to use the Alumni tool

You need to have created an account on LinkedIn to attend this session.

Please bring your own device as this will be an interactive session.

Have you already got a LinkedIn account but want to learn more on how you can enhance it to present a great impression of yourself to employers, organisations and alumni?

If this sounds like you, then come along to this session!

In this mini-session we will focus on: 

  • Going through your LinkedIn profile and discussing how to market yourself effectively in each section of your LinkedIn Profile
  • Outlining top tips on how to use LinkedIn for your Graduate Job, Placement or Internship Search, how to find organisations on LinkedIn, as well as learning how to join industry groups and connecting with University of Leeds Alumni
  • Answering any queries you may have about LinkedIn


This session will take place in a seminar room so please ensure that you bring your own laptop/iPad/tablet with you.
