We are on campus to help anyone who is currently applying, or thinking of applying to Mars who may have any questions about the process .

Routes into careers outside academia - Employer presentation

This workshop will be led by by Dr Richard Crowder.  Richard will be talking about how he has developed his career outside academia, from PhD to his current role in Senior Management with CH2M.  Richard will be speaking personally about the career decisions he made, how his academic background contributed to these and share his experience of moving into strategic management roles and what these require in terms of applications, self presentation and skill sets.  The talk will be for approximately 45 minutes with time for questions.  Tea and coffee will be provided.

This practical session, based in a computer cluster, will give you an introduction to the platform and the basics you need to know about.
The session will cover:

• Why LinkedIn is useful
• How to develop an attractive profile to get you noticed
• How to network on LinkedIn
• Basic account settings

We recommend that you have created a basic account on LinkedIn before attending the session.

Professional Ethics Network: If A Product Could Talk
