SiSExtra Workshop - EAL Support 2: How Language Works

Date: 10 December 2019
Time: 17:00

Booking and Further Information

This SiSExtra workshop follows on from the Introduction to EAL Support session but prior attendance at that is not required to sign up for this session.

This session will focus on ‘how language works’, specifically looking at ways to use the first language as a tool for learning, meta-linguistic strategies and approaches to dealing with errors in the classroom. This workshop will be of particular use to students who may be considering careers in English teaching (particularly at primary school level) or speech and language therapy, although as a large proportion of schools in Leeds and West Yorkshire have significant numbers of learners for whom English is not a first language the information in the session will be valuable to anyone currently on a school-based placement!

Only available for University of Leeds students and recent graduates.
